A breathtaking, yet utterly boring and way too long (over two and a half hours) historic epic.
The famous cast (with the exception of Pitt, that is) tries its best to salvage the movie, but the script doesn`t allow them to excel in particular.
The video transfer is excellent. There are no compression signs to be seen, and the special effects` quality is awesome.
The DD 5.1 soundtrack is very good. The surrounds are violently used throughout the movie and they especially kick in during the numerous (too numerous, if you ask me...) battle scenes.
The menus are animated with sound.
The extras on the 2nd disc include a 45-minute behind the scenes featurette with a nice explanation about the special effects and an interactive gallery of Greek gods. That`s it.
Bottom line - a disappointing (yet great looking) historic epic. Rent it once. Then start worrying about Trojan horses on your PC.
