Now I`m a big Natalie Portman fan...shes gorgeous but this film did little for me. It seemed like it was on for hours and hours and dragged like the Deer Hunter does. The acting was spot on by Sarandon as the mother but how good looking Natalie Portman really is I`m not convinced about her acting ability.

The picture and sound are fine. The soundtrack is a little lame (LeAnn Rimes and Dawson`s Creek type stuff) so there is not really a work out for your speakers...well it is a mother-daughter, coming of age flick.

The special features are pretty poor, featurette and trailer. Not much to write home about. Overall the movie was average nothing special. However your girlfriend/wife wil possibly like it more. Mine did.
