    Your Opinions and Comments

    7 / 10
I had read a lot of bad(many appalling) reviews about this movie but being a Chow Yun Fat and Sean William Scott fan, I decided to give the movie a go on DVD. Seeing as one of my mates gave this a 1/10, I had very low expectations. I was surprised and rather delighted to see that it was a good action movie. Typical, but good nonetheless.
Chow Yun Fat is an immortal monk who has protected a sacred and powerful scroll from an evil Nazi for nearly 60 years. Now the daughter of this Nazi is after the same scroll. Also it is time for Chow Yun to find a successor as he can only keep the scroll for 60 years. In America, he meets Kar(Sean William Scott), an intelligent yet misguided thief. He sees him as an ideal successor and trains him. The 2 of them end up working together to protect the scroll.
Very cliche but interesting none the less. The movie did have potential to be so much more. It is fun and entertaining, a perfect popcorn movie.
The picture is quite sharp all the way through and the visuals are excellent. Some of the action scenes seemed over the top but it was still visually good. The sound was overall average in that there was nothing spectacular about it but it was a great track nonetheless.
There is a standard commentary, Some behind the scenes documentaries, a photo gallery and a trailer. Pretty much all you would want from a not so special film. This movie is watchable and entertaining if you switch your brains off.
