Great movie presented well on 2 special edition discs. One of Jackie Chans earlier movies that wont be forgotten. Personally I think that the sequel, Project A part 2 is much better but this by no means is a bad movie. It is very entertaining and has some hilarious scenes. There is not much action on the high seas at all. Most of it is shot on land. The story involves Jackie Chan who is a coast guard after a band of pirates. After several unsuccessful attempts, the coast guard is disbanded and ridiculed by the police force. Jackie then joins the police for a while and tries to catch them. There are laughs a plenty in this enjoyable action comedy.

Project A is one of my all time favourite films. It is a brilliant blend of action and humour and a must for all martial arts fans and even for those who dislike the genre.

The story is set in the early 1900s and sees Jackie Chan star as Sergeant Ma of the Hong Kong Marine Police, who are having enormous problems with pirates. After their failures, the Marine Police are disbanded and forced to join the regualr police force. Jackie Chan and friends have problems adapting to the new roles and when faced with ignorant superiors, Jackie Chan quits the police force and decides to tackle the pirates virtually on his won. This is the first time he uses the underdog character successfully used in Police Story and many of his later films.

Some of the fight scenes are superbly choreographed and the clock tower stunt is amazing in Jackie?s bravery!

If you like films, I would urge you to discover Project A, it is an all time classic.

As for the DVD, the transfer is very good considering the age of the film. The extras are thorough and well thought out and are quite pleasant but not outstanding. The packaging is another nice touch. You can pick this up for less than £15 now from the internet, so buy it!
