Review of Twilight Zone, The: Vol 6

    7 / 10

    Introduction

The Twilight Zone was the first series of this kind, predating, and in some ways making possible, such series as Star Trek and The Outer Limits.
The Twilight Zone discs aren`t the usual chronological set of episodes, rather a series of the `best of` with each disc containing a central theme to the four episodes it contains.

The tagline for disc 6 is "The Unquiet Dead in the Twilight Zone" and it deals with dead people (Duh!). All four eposides are about the undead in some way and are all great fun.

    Video

These episodes date from the Sixties and as such are in black and white - they have, however been digitally remastered for these dvds - and sucessfully so.

The picture quality is good, probably better that was originally seen! There are no obvious, intrusive digital artifacts and the transfer is free from dust and scratches.

The DVD menue is not animated but is nice and jazzy and easy to navigate.

    Audio

Dolby Digital is used - in mono as would be expected from the era.

The sound is excellent and clear - they`ve done a good job.

    Features

Not bad, there`s a lot of information about Rod Sterling, the creator of teh Twilight Zone, episode reviews, cast information and a season by season commentary. The only complaint really is that the majority of the information is repeated from disc to disc on the series....

    Conclusion

Excellent and a must have for Twilight Zone fans everywhere!
