Review of Dirty Love Two: The Love Games

    3 / 10

    Introduction

This is the only movie directed by Alex Damiano and listed in the IMDb (under its original title "Casa di Piacere". This 1988 specimen of Italian erotica stars Valentine Demy who has previously appeared in Tinto Brass`s "Paprika", "11 Days, 11 Nights 3" and the original "Dirty Love". The movie has been previously available in cut form, but Argent Films are trumpeting this release as "uncut" and boasting two extra minutes previously excised at the insistence of the BBFC.

Demy stars as Eva, the former star attraction of the local brothel who inherited a villa from a wealthy client. She picks up three toy boys whom she installs in the villa and a generally good time is had by all. Then Eva falls for a businessman and things turn sour...

Much of the action in the movie takes place in flashback as Eva recounts her adventures to her three pouty pretty-boy toy boys. It should be noted at this point that the movie has been dubbed with American voices and attempts at translating Italian humour into English fall completely flat.

    Video

Presented in its original 4:3, the movie looks pretty good - colours are vivid and the movie is shot with an eye for style. There are some bits of print damage, mainly neg dirt which shows up as the occasional sparklie, but it doesn`t look too bad.

    Audio

The sound is Dolby 2.0 Stereo. Reiterating again that the dialogue is dubbed and frequently sounds very stilted.

    Features

Only a trailer for "Lady Of The Night".

    Conclusion

A rather disappointing movie with a top-heavy title. The original translates as "House Of Pleasure" and suits the action better. As with virtually all Italian erotica, it lacks genuine eroticism and any lightness of touch which could have made the subject material a lot more entertaining. I`ve seen funnier and sexier.
