Review for WWE Money in the Bank 2013

7 / 10

The Money in the Bank ladder matches is one of the few stipulation PPVs that actually works. Much like the Royal Rumble, the winner of either of the two ladder matches gets title match at any time throughout the year. Now it is true that since the first surprise cashing in by Edge it does seem that this is the only purpose of winning is to provide two shocks throughout the year. It would be nice if someone actually used the briefcase to headline Wrestlemania or another PPV.

This PPV is actually pretty solid with two good Money in the Bank matches. It is true that the first featuring Cody Rhodes, Wade Barrett, Fandango, Damien Sandow, Jack Swagger and Antonio Cesaro is not given the time it needs to be a classic, but it is still a fun match with lots of exciting action. The main event match is much better, maybe due to the fact it has CM Punk, a returning Rob Van Dam, Daniel Bryan, Sheamus, Randy Orton and Christian. The performance is a lot better and really if I hadn't seen much of the same spots in the earlier one it would probably be a contender for of the year.

The rest of the card is pretty good with Chris Jericho against Ryback a decent match if a little strange. Intercontinental Match between Curtis Axel and The Miz is fine for what it is, just makes you remember just how far The Miz has fallen from the main event scene. WWE Divas title match between AJ and Kaitlyn is again a great match and these two have a great chemistry between them.

The two title matches WWE Title between John Cena and Mark Henry and World Title between Alberto Del Rio and Dolph Ziggler are both fine for what they are, but if either had been the main event I wouldn't have been happy with this PPV. As it is, the PPV is a nice mixture of matches that flow well and are enjoyable to watch.

It is true, main event aside, there's very little I would watch again, but if you didn't catch it the first time it is certainly not a PPV that I regret watching.
