Frankie Boyle: If I could Reach Out Through Your TV And Strangle You, I Would

Frankie Boyle is well known for being a controversial comedian, coming to mainstream attention as one of the resident panel on Mock The Week. After having a book bestseller over Christmas 2009 with 'My s*** Life So Far', Boyle has since left Mock The Week to try a few things for himself on TV with a brand new sketch and stand-up show called Tramadol Nights due in the near future on Channel 4. Boyle's 2010 set, billed as his last ever live DVD, was filmed at London's Hammersmith Apollo earlier in the year, not sure of the exact date but certainly prior to the World Cup.

Boyle's style as a stand-up is a bit of a cross between Jimmy Carr and Dara O'Brain, whereby he takes the bad taste jokes of Carr and ratchets it up to eleven, whilst also using the audience participation of O'Brain to mercilessly mock and abuse the audience - this is something Carr also does, but I find Boyle much worse. I quite liked Boyle's contributions on Mock The Week, limited by the fact that there were seven competing comedians, I'm not so sure that I quite like Boyle so much on his own for an extended period of time.

There are a few extras on here that increase the viewing time, although I wasn't particularly impressed with any of them.

Great for those who can stand the 'edgy' comedy that Boyle is renowned for in large doses, definately not for those of a nervous disposition.
