Outputting laptop video to TV issue

Brian Elliott (Reviewer) posted this on Tuesday, 24th March 2009, 12:09

Hi guys,

I`m currently playing around with the ability to connect my laptop to my Samsung LCD TV, so that I can watch the video on the TV. Simply plugging in the cable (VGA to VGA) does the trick, but it also disrupts my laptop display settings, which then have to be re-tweaked by me every time I unplug the connection.

Is there a way around this, or is there a setting that I`m not aware of that can stop this happening?

Thanks!

Depending on the laptop/graphics card/driver software you may be able to set a different resolution for the external screen. That should sort the problem.

or set both screens to the same resolution i did on mine and its fine (make sure your tv can handle high resolution or use a lower one on the laptop and change size of icons)
