Freeview signal breaking up through dvd recorder but fine through tv??

JohnnyTV (Elite) posted this on Sunday, 7th September 2008, 11:34

My Dad bought an lcd tv a few weeks ago and has been really chuffed with it, went and got a dvd/hdd recorder at the weekend for it, which has the aerial fitted into it first, and then feeds into the tv via hdmi.

The picture is great on the tv but keeps breaking up through the dvd recorder - anyone got any idea why or anything we can try to stop this happening please?

i prefere to use scart less hassel my dvdr is connected as such

freeview/btvision/sky-scart-dvdr-svideo-tv-svideo-dvdr simple but works

i add a macroremover to the setup occasionally for stability with some channels

Got it sorted now, should have updated the thread really. Apparently Panasonic boost the signal, and whilst it was fine for the tv, the signal was being over boosted for the dvd recorder, hence the signal breaking up, apparently a fairly common problem I was told.

Parents swapped for a sony instead and no problems with it. Strange eh
