Eltax Speakers from Richersounds - they any good??

philip j (Mostly Harmless) posted this on Sunday, 17th June 2001, 19:25

Looking to buy an amp and speakers.

What are Eltax like? are they any good, these seem to be the main speakers sold at richersounds.co.uk.

I seem to be able to get a whole Eltax speaker package for approx £200.

Advice anyone, especially from those that have them?

TIA

ps. the one i was considering was :Eltax Silverado:

This friendly Danish company make speakers for all budgets - try their website http://www.eltax.dk

Their Moviemaxx speaker package (at Richer for £149) isn`t really rated, but certainly their Liberty range are pretty good.

Their Linear Response package got slated in Wh*t Hi Fi Sound and Vision this month (p.20 of July 2001 edition).

I have their subwoofer, Atomic A8, but there have been reports of it getting hot - mine certainly doesn`t, and runs very sweetly.

Best thing to suggest - book yourself a demo at your nearest Richer if you can - AFAIK they are exclusive retailers for Eltax stuff in the UK.
