DVD Player Under £150??????

BRILEY (Competent) posted this on Thursday, 10th May 2001, 15:59

A mate want`s a DVD player and is not willing to pay much (thinks DVD-R will be available soon. Ha! Ha!)

He just wants a region 2 which plays CD-R`s with good picture and sound.

He been looking at the JMB but I have heard it has Lip sync problems?
I was thinking of recommending the Cyberhome? Can it still be bought through WH Smith? as well as Richer Sounds.

All help appreciated

I would say if he`s looking for a Budget DVD player you can go far wrong with the JMB, OK its not the best player in the world BUT it does the job well for the price. To be honest Ive never encountered lip sync problems with mine. Multi Region via a remote hack and RCE compatable, What more can you ask for, Picked mine up for £60.

Hey Briley, I thought DVD-R was coming this year?

I have seen plenty of models.

The ones that read other brands media are ridiculously expensive though:(

Cyberhome AD-M512 can be bought from Richer Sounds for £120, WH Smith £130.

I had to order my CH from Smiths, it came after a few days. A friend just picked one up from Richer Sounds in Bristol - off the shelf.

AD-M512 is a great player for the money!
