Warning about LoveFilm

I`m on the LoveFilm trial at the moment. They were generally good at sending out the top titles on my list etc... and then, after 1 week 1 of the titles they sent never arrived. So, after waiting four days, I e-mailed them telling them a disc they`d posted later had arrived and the previous one had not. About 24 hours later they replied telling me to wait a bit longer which meant that I`d had to wait 7 days in total. After this, I told them it hadn`t arrived. They informed me that I`d have to fill in some forms and wouldn`t receive any more DVDs until this had been resolved. Three days later I still hadn`t received any claim forms to fill in and they don`t haven`t responded to any of my e-mails. There isn`t even a contact phone number.

You find out how good a company really is when something goes wrong so...beware of LoveFilm because their customer service is clearly lacking. According to the FAQ if a disc doesn`t arrive then they will resend it, it appears to me as though their actual policy is to treat the customer like a thief and then to ignore the customer. I`ll inform my credit card company not to make any payments to them because I don`t trust this company at all. The lack of a phone number is also not very impressive since it leaves me in a position where I cannot do anything. If anyone has a contact number for them, I`d appreciate it. Thanks.

And speaking of lost films from LoveFilm, I`m in that exact position now. I cancelled after my free 1 month membership and already told them 2 weeks before that 1 disc hadn`t arrived. They said they`d send it again, but never did. No one mentioned any lost claim forms at the time so they charged me 1 month`s sub even though I cancelled the account in good time and returned all outstanding discs before the trial was up.

It took 1 week to receive a claim form, which arrived this morning. I`ll fill it in and send it back tomorrow. They had better refund my money or there`ll be trouble. I`m not impressed with this lack of service either. VideoIsland are still my faves, despite the odd queueing system. I`ll let you know when/if I get my refund.

Their customer service is sh*te. E-mail stteve.yrrek[at].moc.mlifevol She was pretty good at getting sorted out. How can a proper service not have a phoneline to sort issues out? That`s no good in my opinion. I`d never again use a company that doesn`t have the resources or want to deal with their customers in a proper way. E-mail only isn`t very good. Blockbuster are just as bad for dealing with customers. VideoIsland and their MSN and Tesco rentals are the best.

Blockbusters send out the most disgusting DVDs. Have they never heard of tissue or a cloth. Always have bits all over them.

I have been with blockbusters for 2 months and have never received a single title from my top ten. May be cancelling with them if they continue to send me my less preferred choices.

Choiceserental were great at sending me latest titles but they had a very poor turnaround. For 3 weeks I received 1 movie per week evwn though I returned them the same day.

Blockbuster always sent my top titles to me, and mine were always the latest releases. Lovefilm have been good in sending the latest titles as well.

I`ve found Lovefilm to be good.
Don`t always get first choice from list, but it usually turns up before too long.
And I found their email service to be quite on the ball when I had a film not delivered.
Happy to stick with them at the moment.

I`m in the last few days of one month free trial with screen select. They have been brilliant. Disc arrives Monday, I post Tuesday, they post next disc Wednesday. Always getting my top choices (tho I`m not ordering blockbusters, mainly foreign language and Disney).

Well chuffed, but will cancel and try someone else. No point in paying till you`ve tried em all.
