anybody give an opinion on them? prices are great for what i want even including postage?

Half the regulars here will tell you they are great and never have any problems with them.
The rest of us will tell you they are the worst on the net.
Have a look in the retailers forum, there is always plenty of threads for and against and make your own mind up.

From what I can gather if you make a pre-order from them and don`t f*ck around by making mistakes on your order, just sit back and relax, you will not have any problems. I`ve ordered loads from them (last thing was Roger Rabbit which turned up earlier this week - 2 weeks before release date) and never had a problem...they are also good with customs too, generally marking the goods low value (cost of tangible disc and packaging maybe?)

Also, when something goes wrong I`m convinced people are approaching them to complain by the wrong method.

If they`ve got the stuff instock when u order then they do seem to take their time over things I admit.

Not wishing to start a fight about it Greg, but in 15 orders I had 15 problems mainly with pre-orders which went to "on order " on the day of release and stayed there for weeks without movement when every other dealer was showing in stock. No mistakes were made on the orders ( some of us are quite grown up ) and despite many many emails ranging from polite to pleading to humourous to annoyed not one of dozens were answered.

When an order eventually turned up, because of the good prices I kept giving them another chance only for the same thing to happen again.
Many others will tell the same story or worse.

Yes the prices are great, but I now order from others and for a pound or two more know for sure the order will arrive in a couple of days.

You pays your monies and takes your chances .

Yeah have to agree with kywy - I`ve had nothing but problems with them. I think it`s worth the extra to buy from someone else like Play, CD-Wow, etc.

I have ordered a couple of times from them, 1 pre-order and one normal and both of them turned up very quickly indeed.

Me too - 3 pre orders. All turned up on time, if not sooner.

Ordered Jackass from them yesterday - lets see if i have me first problem!

I have been ordering from them since December, 2002 ( twelve orders delivered; one on route; one on back order ) and have never had a problem.

If one in ten orders have problems then the odds are that each time you order you`ll have no problems, but would you be happy ordering from an outfit where one in ten orders go awol ? Not that I`m suggesting that dvdsoon (or other similar companies) have such a failure rate but i`d go along with the suggestion of sticking to known reliable dealers as theres nothing worse than having an order fail to turn up and getting no response to emails which seems to be the order of the day with most second rank dealers. So its up to you whether price or service is more important. Mind you if you order dvds from a supplier who lies about the value of the contents to customs then you`re already into dodgy dealing.

I would not be happy ordering from a company where one in ten orders go missing but that is not my experience of DVDSoon.

My `on route` order which was dispatched on 15 March, 2003, arrived safely this morning and my remaining title which was on `back order` is now packing. Fourteen orders placed since early December, 2002, and not one single problem. As far as I am concerned both price and service has been excellent. I fully appreciate that this may not the case for everyone but I can only speak of my own experience of the company.
