Streaming Video

My computer is bout 8 years old. It is a Medion windows XP. I thought it had VGA fittings at the back but now I realise it does not, just video in and out sockets. I want to stream netflix to my new TV which does have VGA fittings. Is it possible to buy a cable with VGA fittings one end, RCA fittings the other and then stream netflix. When XP is no longer supported I will prob buy a laptop but I have spent all my spare money on my new TV.images.reviewer.co.uk/smileys/smiley-violin.gif

So your PC only has Composite and Left/Right audio phono sockets that support video out?

If so, does your TV have a SCART socket?

Yes just 1 which I am using for my DVD that is old 2. I am using a HD lead for my Tivo box. My Tv has 2 USB fittings and 4 HD fittings. I have had TV only a few days, Still getting used to it. Tried following instructions to use DVD via RCA fittings but just blank screen

Your DVD has component out I guess? Think those sockets are marked red/green/blue.

I suspect your best solution is getting the DVD to output component (you may have to alter something in its settings menu to get it to use that rather than RGB/composite) and use that to the TV, freeing up the SCART for your PC composite output.

Another option (which won`t be remotely as good) would be to buy a box that will convert composite to HDMI. Unfortunately cheap ones give an awful picture, and more expensive ones are never as good as a proper input.
