Possible to connect dvd player to tv without scart?

yabba dabba (Elite) posted this on Friday, 13th April 2007, 16:07

I gave my mate my old dvd player, but now he tells me that the tv in the room that he rents has no scart socket.
Can he use any other type of lead to get dvd player to work?

scart leads with rca connections on the other end are very easy to find, assuming your friends tv has rca connections :/

edit: just found this on SVP, out of stock tho :(

If the TV has no composite inputs either, then the best bet is to connect the DVD player through an old VCR, so that it connects via scart to the VCR and the VCR connects to the TV via RF. Then he simply tunes the TV so that it finds the VCR or channel 5 or 6, and when he switches on the VCR and sets it to AV, the DVD will come up on screen.
