Matsui dvdr100 set up

DaveFear (Harmless) posted this on Wednesday, 17th August 2005, 20:06

I have set this up as instructed, I do not have a video m/c but a freeview box. The auto set up indicates that it would pick up all channels for recording, but does not pick up the digital channels on the freeview only the 1-5 analogue channels. Is there a way to set up to combat this or have I just bought a piece of cr*p? Also, does this machine play multi region as standard, if not is there a hack for it?

Not familiar with that machine but somewhere it should give you a choice of AV inputs when programming or making a recording.
Assuming that you have connected using scart leads (+ RF) choosing to input `Scart` will record whatever is currently on the TV.

I need to have a multi-region hack for MATSUI DVD recorder DVDR100 but cannot find this hack on this website. Grateful if you let me know what this for this machine.
Incidentally I previously had a MUSTEK DVDR100 DVD recorder which i made multi-
region. Will the same software work for MATSUI as looks exactly the same, but different
brand name.
Will the hack make it also VCD and SVCD compatable as well?

Regards,
Tim Fearis

Tim,

multi region hack for Matsui DVDR100

open tray
press DVD/REC
press return(note it isn`t the button in the centre of the direction buttons as you would expect, but the return button is the one to the bottom left hand corner of the direction buttons)
press info
enter 8880

should confirm success, good luck

ps your machine may gain time ie the clock will be faster so it will eventually be ahead of the real time . You just have to make sure the time is reset before any timed recording.

pps, the Mr DVD discs from ASDA are good with this machine
