Is it worth getting fixed?

FuzzyBoy (Competent) posted this on Sunday, 4th April 2004, 22:14

My Panasonic DVD-RV20 appears to have packed up after 3 and 1/2 years.

I think it is the laser because discs play with no problem whatsoever up until the dual-layer transition then the picture freezes and jumps all over the place. It could be that the laser cannot read the 2nd layer - any thoughts on that?

So, is it worth getting it repaired? Or shall I bite the bullet and pop down to Asda for a cheapo?

Regards,

Throway society dictates that its prob cheaper to pop to ASDA than get a quote for repair.

Sad, very ungreen, unfortunately true, especially as a ex-electronics eng.
