Pioneer 535 multi region or not

Steed (Harmless) posted this on Monday, 5th March 2001, 13:17

Hi guys,

I am (like so many other people) looking for a nice cheap DVD player that does everything.

I quite fancy the Pionner 535 but need to know if it is hackable or not. Some people say it is, some it isn`t

Lectronics (sp) have it for £199 region 1-6, no macrovision.
Empire direct have one for £169 but they say it`s region 2.

So does it come hackable out of the box or is the lectronics one chipped?

And is it worth having?

cheers,

Rich

Yes it`s hackable, but only by adding a mod to it (not quite chipping - but close). Out the box will be region two only.

Take it to somewhere like Upgrade Heaven or HiFi Store.

Once that`s done (I went to UG Heaven) then you`ve got on really nice DVD player that will play any region you like (even RCE disks) in auto mode.

Can`t fault that.

Jason

Get the player from upgrade heaven.com, multiregionmagic, or any number of online stores. you will get the player already mod`d for multi region and vcr friendly (not that i know anythin bout that)

I delt with upgradeheaven and have had no problems and it does "exactly what it said on the tin".......i have also heard good reports of Multiregionmagic.

If you visit a site "Techtronics"....make sure you add VAT.

BTW the pioneer 535 is a good buy.
