Scan SC-2000 `Not playing SVCD`s`

Duane (Mostly Harmless) posted this on Tuesday, 20th February 2001, 13:31

This problem was apparently intoduced in V2.14 Firmware - is anyone looking into fixing it ?

Also, there was some talk about F/W supporting long MP3 file names - is this still a possible future enhancement.

I`ve e-mailed Nelley about the SVCD problem, but he`s been very quiet lately. Long MP3 filenames are being worked on, but meantime I read an interesting post about the LG3350.

If you burn your MP3`s using Nero and select ISO Level 2, Mode 2XA and ASCII file names the LG3350 will display 15 char Directory`s and 16 char filenames. I`ve seen screenshots and I`d be very happy with that - they make much more sense than 8.3.

I`m going to try it tonight, so I`ll post up my results later.

Bear - slag Scan all you want. I actually like messing around to see what it can and cannot do. Just cos your overpriced Sony can`t get features added with free upgrades direct from the company doesn`t give you the right to slag us off.

Anywy shouldn`t you be hibernating or something and giving us a rest from your whining.

tried the MP3 thingy in Nero 5, exactly as you suggested, scan just spits the disk out, firmware 2.14, so guess it dont work for us mate
still at least we can play MP3s, unlike some rather sad, sony loving, no-life idiots eh?
by the way, I also have a Sony dvp315s, and apart from the fact that the scan has s*** loads of extra features in comparison, I can notice absoultely NO difference in picture or sound quality AT ALL!
So much so that Im finking of selling the sony!!

Begs the question why you bought the Sony in the first place!

PS , I would keep the Sony you will need it for when your scan dies.

Spits the disc out hey! scan the worlds first automatic frizzbie skimmer.
