Which Loewe?

Guy mk2 (Competent) posted this on Tuesday, 13th January 2004, 07:51

Having dumped my Pansonic TX28PS1 I`m willing to up the budget and consider something else. Cabinet aesthetics are important to me so I`ve been looking at Loewe`s sets. My criteria is:

28"
excellent picture quality
good sound
2 scarts (1 RGB)
cabinet must be available in a dark colour
maximum of £800

Any suggestions? What are Loewe`s CRT sets like?
Cheers all.

You can get the excellent Aventos for £813

..or

This for £679,

Both stunning tv`s

But i`d still hunt down the Toshiba 32ZD26 for £839 from Roberts-Online. Ok it`s £40 extra, but believe me, that £40 will certainly not be missed! Offers Progressive Scan, Component inputs, 3 scarts, a better picture than the two above by far, and a nice stand included as standard. All Leowe stands are optional extras and cost a fortune. The Tosh is fantastic and an utter steal at the price believe me :D

Hope that helps! Just cause it says Leowe on the box does not guarantee the best quality ;) Nice tv`s, just a shade expensive for what you actually get

The reason why I sent the Panasonic back was because I just couldn`t live with the cabinet (the silver surround was distracting my eyes away from the screen). I noticed the Loewe`s came in all manner of dark shades and saw the Aventos was around the £800 mark.

Westy, does the Toshiba you mention come in a 28" version? Thanks.

Guy,

It does indeed - though you don`t get the closed stand, you get an open one instead. Still the same tv innards though :)

Cracking tv for the money - only £569 from Robertsons online

Thanks Westy. I`ll try and get to a highstreet store to see if I find the Tosh cabinet distracting - damn my pickiness!
