How many coffers are you willing to expend from your wallet?

If it`s around £100, then indeed the Cyberhome is great, as is the Toshiba 120e

£200 gets you the superb, (yawn, it gets boring to keep saying it), Toshiba 220e

£300 will get you it`s bigger brother the Toshiba 520e, with prog scan and DVD Audio, an extra £50 bags you the utterly classy and extremely slick Harman Kardon DVD25 or Pioneer 656a

Upwards of this sort of money, the Sony DVPS900 or it`s successor the 905 are a REAL treat, as is the new Pio` 757a.

All the above are spanktastic, mark my words...

It is indeed, but do yourself a favour and buy one from 7oaks, their multiregion upgrade is the most sound out of ANY mod on this player.

You`ve been warned..

Need to replace my Scan2000 (stolen) and I`m looking at either the Tosh SD220E or the Pioneer DV350 (though really want the 454 for optical out but £30 extra doesn`t justify it).
Bearing in mind that I also need SXVCD playback, the best picture will determine my choice between those so any advice on that would be welcome.

I`l try to pop to the SevenOaks (a real shop! omg!) since just saw there`s few minutes walk/ride from my place..ooh just saw they have the Pioneer 454 for £109 this week so maybe a chance there.

I bought my multi-region Toshiba 220e from Amazon for £120 inc carriage. It has played everything I have tried with no problem. Which is more than I can say for my Marantz 4100 which I bought from Richer Sounds.

Ive got a SCAN 2000, Cyberhome 5xx and a pioneer 757ai

and my honest truth is for cheapness get the scan. the 2000 was better because u could lead any vcd svcd in IE with the cyberhome if it dont like the disc it would say bad disc and thats as far as you could get, with the scan it scanned the frames and then you choose the correct frame IE the start of the film and 9/10 it played them.

Obviously the 757 i have eats anything silver and round, but at 600 a pop not cheap.

So if i had scan or cyberhome i go scan, ive had mine 3 years now and it plays everything the 757 does, the cyberhome has failed a few.

I think you`d have to be a gambler to buy a scan after all the trouble people get with them!
