I have a LG F-DV25 DVD home cinema system. It had DD5.1 decoder in-built. And has provisions for attaching 6 speakers (subwoofer + 5 speakers). 5 speakers came with the system. (no sub-woofer). It does not have dts out or a DTS decoder. I wanted to know how i cud play DTS DVDs on my set. What equipment do i need to purchase and what how do i connect the same? Also need to know what power subwoofer to buy for the set. The 5 speakers are of 16W RMS power.

You would need a DTS decoder. Seperate decoders are strictly high end, so what you could do is buy a modern A/V amp and speakers. 99% of A/V amps have not only DD5.1 but DTS decoding.

BUT

This is quite an investment - at least £150 for an amp, and whatever for speakers - perhaps you could use the existing, and add a subwoofer. However, cheapo subs are just nasty uncontrolled noise - not really what you want.

If I were you, I wouldn`t worry about missing out on DTS. If you want to improve the overall sound, then great - upgrade to a proper amp, but don`t do it "just" for DTS.

Plus - your existing player may not be DTS compatible. If the DTS logo is on it somewhere, then it will be. If not, you`ll need to check the documentation. But Richard`s right - don`t invest in extra equipment unless you want to invest in extra equipment - DTS alone is probably not reason enough.
