Page 1 of Phillips DVDR 1000

Can anyone tell me if this unit is any good because at £800 i am starting to get very tempted can this machine be hacked for multi reigon.

This machine is very good (for me) I have one and I hacked it for multi-region with a one4all6. I think it can also be done with a one4all4. Use the Philips 750 hack but use this code instead. 121212005255. Enjoy.

Cheers AL is picture quality ok and how is it on layer changes, knowing Phillips are bringing out the DVDR 980 sometime in march which supports DVDR discs as well as DVD RW+ i wonder whether i should wait it is also rumored to be cheaper.?

Picture quality is fine at the standard speed, a little soft on the slower speed. Layers are fine. The only setback with the hack is, lost the counter on the RW`s playback but for standard DVD movies counter works fine. I don`t know anything about the new 980. Is there a site for info on this new unit?
