Page 1 of Technika DPA08 also sold as Tesco DPA08

Grateful for a hack for this particular DVD Player.

Technika Players appear to be hacked by using the remote control to:

Press the Open button
Press the Setup button
Press Next Button
Enter a 4 digit to bring up the region (I have tried 3333, 9736, 9735, 4954, 8379 and 2812, which all work on other Technika machines but don`t work on this one).
On entering the correct 4 digit code the banner at the top of the screen will bring up the current region
Use the Up and Down buttons to change the region to `255` for multi-region.
Press the Setup button on your remote control to exit the banner menu function
Power Off your player
Power On your player

Grateful if anyone could identify the correct 4 digit code for this machine!

I`m still looking for this code as well. I`ve tried all the Technika codes i can find to no avail. I think though it may be 3 clicks on the next button though as the option to select is custom setup and not the exit box. Please reply if you get anywhere.

have got this far in trying to make it region free:

Turn the player on
Press the Open button
Press Setup on the remote
Press volume buttons up, down, up, down
The region code will show in the top right corner

I am unable to change the number to 0 or 255 which should make it region free..

Using thre remote control
Power On DVD
Press Open/Close
Press setup
Move menu across to Custom Setup
Enter 3333 on the key pad
A secret Menu1 appears
Select yor region of "Free" for multi region playback.

i havent had the pleasure of confirming whether this works or not so id appreicate if you try it let us all know so we know if it works.....Pa

There is no Custom Setup Menu on the DPA08. This suggestion does NOT work.

K sorry bout that as i say i had`nt been able to check it myself..

try this and see how you get on, don`t forget to let us know k thanks.

Select `Open` (the drawer).
Select `Setup`.
Select `Next`.
Type in a 4 number code, ie `8920`
The Region number appears in the top banner as a single digit ie: `2` for UK.
Use the left arrow to scroll through region numbers until you get to `255`, which is multi-region.
Select `Setup` to exit the menu
