Page 1 of DVD region X software for playstation 2 -Does it cause problems?

I have a play station 2 and have just bought a DVD region x disc which will let me play import dvd movies -ie dvds from different regions. What I want to know is this: If this disc converts my playstation to multiregion, can some of the newer dvds which can `spot` multiregion hacks and then are programmed not to play -can they then stop my playstation 2 from playing even the usual region 2 discs that they should? (I`m in the UK)

A friend of mine has just got a PS2 and I was gonna try the hack below but I dont know if it works, has anyone else tried it? does it work?

For all Playstations 2 without mod chip

Press O 2 times R1 5 times X 7 times

All Regions 1-6 wil work

DVD region X works a treat on all region discs, even RCE disks without any problems... top bit of kit

When should you perform this button pressing exercise?

As far as i know that hack only works on early jap models.

be carefull when purchasing region 1 dvd`s wiv nuon code (ie planet of the apes 2001) as they will not work on region x
