TOSHIBA D-R350SB DVD Recorder

Tim Fearis (Harmless) posted this on Saturday, 15th October 2005, 01:02

Trying to make a TOSHIBA DVD Video Recorder D-R350SB changed from a
Region 2 to a Multi-Region DVD Recorder but cannot even find this model on the
internet. Would anybody please let me know how I can find this model or thereby find
a multi-region hack for it. Looks like this is an up-to-date machine but can only find
reference to a D-R3 machine. Is this the same as a D-R350SB please? Is there a hack
for this ? Thanks in advance.

IMPORTANT: You CAN remote hack your PHILIPS player without paying the rip off fees demanded by chipping companies, click here for more info! Also Sonys, Toshibas, Panasonics and most JVCs cannot be hacked via the remote. A chipping company (and therefore payment of a fee) is necessary.

nice1 means exactly what he says. Almost without exception the high end manufacturers, Sony, Panasonic and Toshiba do not provide machines that can be hacked with the remote they are supplied with. Some can be done with a special remote available to dealers (and there are companies that will rent you modified universal remotes that can be used once for hacking) and some have a special disc that flashes the internal firmware of the machine. Others have to have additional physical modifications such as chips put in to change the region. The only Toshiba I ever knew that could be hacked from its own remote was the 240e and that was a very low budget machine.

Here`s that hack

open the tray
type 2403960
keep pressing enter until you reach region 9
close the tray
turn the player off
turn it back on

Thanks for this info. Because it is a different model I won`t try this in case I damage
my machine. I phone Toshiba UK to enquire about this request and they say that their
UK machines are only made to UK - region 2 in any case, so had better accept this.
Thanks again,

I don`t know of any hack for this but was wondering if you could help me.

I recently got this DVD recorder. I bought iot off a blind man!!!
Anyway i was wondering if you have any other instructions besides the owners manual and quick reference guide.I also have been trying to look on-line. i managed to set up this machine easy enough but don`t know about all the recording settings etc.. e.g how do you switch PDC on?
No reference to this at all in instruction book...unless i`m missing a few pages!

If you can help please e-mail me at;2752.reldnahc[at]ten.egnaro
Thanks
