7.22 fimware for PHILIPS 711

I just loaded this new firmware ,switching from 7.12;I did not see any change at all;I thought I could read MP3,but apparently it is not working.I also expected to read SVCD with P number 01, but I had to keep P055;
Can someone tell me the merit if any to switch to 7.22?

You will be able to fast-forward VCDs (especially home made ones)....

but MP3?.....no...you are vastly mis-informed.....

you need a whole new mpeg board in your machine (or a new player) for this facility.......
