Page 1 of Locked out Philips

I have tried the temporary remote hack on my Philips DVD957, as my local shops have no One for All remotes and it has locked in region 1. Does anyone know how I can get it back to region 2, so I can stop meddling in things I do not understand!!

if your Philips player has expired the 25x region change limit.....you have several options......

1. Use the RC6 method to make the machine multi-region
2. Use an PC connected to your DVD player to reset the NV RAM
3. Take it to a "chipping" company....

I would recomend the first option.....you can use a Philips Pronto, a Oneforall remote, A Palm Pilot...take your pick!.....

Looks like I will have to search a bit harder to find a Oneforall remote!

You have one more option: build a simple and inexpensive IR interface which connects to your pc and can generate the RC6 code:
