Does anybody own any Jet Li films?

Blazingmonga (Elite) posted this on Sunday, 5th November 2000, 02:25

Do any of you cretins have any Jet Li films of any kind on DVD? If you do are they dubbed to english? All the sites/shops I have been to say that all of the DVD films of his are dubbed into english and have only this as a language, which as any purist will know sucks ass big time. It put me off buying the Jet Li collection instantly so some company was very dumb to do this terrible thing to his great films. Is this true? Tell me or ill creep up behind you and strangle you......(I missed halloween ok)

Has news and review of UK releases of Jet Li films etc. ie. The Hitman

In the UK the only company that makes great quality Hong Kong releases is Medusas Hong Kong Legends label (see the above link for the reviews), they remaster (basically do full post producution on the original film) to anamorphic widescreen, remaster the audio, both english and original and they get extras inc making their own.

HKL have just got an exclusive distribution deal with Chinese Film Studio Golden Harvest/Golden Princess,
This entitles them to release majority of Golden Harvest/Golden Princess films. Including Jet Li Once Upon A Time In China Parts 1 2 3

Due to the new BBFC guidelines it is very likely that all the HKL titles will be Uncut (they just released the Big Boss, uncut for the first time in the UK) all their titles so far have been uncut (except Body Weapon but that was due to a rape scene)

I`ve got Romeo Must Die on region 1, which is an all American film. It`s okay too, apart from some of the stupid fighting.

Ho I am not interested in the minor Jet Li films like Romeo must die or lethal weapon 4. I was more interested in finding out if there was any un-dubbed versions of his better, original films like Lgend of Fong Sai Yuk 1+2, Fist of Legend, Once upon a time in china 1-4 etc..
Only fools know only of Jet Li as the guy from romeo muust die or lethal weapon 4.

I`m not a cretin, but I thought I`d reply anyway.

I`ve got 3 Jet Li films on DVD :-

The Last Hero In China - this contains an original soundtrack, read my review here :-

The Evil Cult - this contains an original soundtrack, read my review here :-

Once Upon a Time in China and America - I`ve only just received this disc and haven`t had a look at it yet. I believe that it contains an English dubbed track and an original soundtrack (which is actually a mixture of Cantonese and English). There appear to be reports of some other oddities with this disc too - look out for my full review soon.
