Homework for my 13-year old niece - Blonkes

Pete-MK (Elite Donator) posted this on Wednesday, 26th April 2006, 16:51

My niece has been given this pice of crap for her homework. i reckon questions 3 & 4 have been worded wrongly. The premise is that although it`s nonsense, if you read it through, it`ll make perfect sense.

=============================

The blonke was maily, like all the others. Unlike the other blonkes, however, it had sp1ss crinet completely covering its fairney cloots and concealing, just below one of them, a small wam.

This particular blonke was quite drumly- lennow, in fact, and almost samded. When yerden, it did not winx like the other blonkes, or even flerk. The other Blonkes, which had not been given the same nesh, were by no means lennow or samded. They Winxed readily enough.

The nesh was quite kexy, had a strong shawk, and was probably venenated. There was only one thing to do with it - gevel in the wong and gash it in. This would be much better than to sparple it the flosh, since the blonkes that were not drumly could iswonk in the wong but in the flosh, and in any cast, it might not be wise to venente the flosh.

Q
What is Drumly?

Why were the other blonkes not lennow and samded?

in what ways was the drumly like the others

in what ways was the drumly unlike the others

if nesh is venenated, is it wise to gaff it in the wong

Describe the blonke in more detail.

Well, I`m sure that teaching them a load of cobblers like that will really help out in the real world.

Sort of sounds like A Clockwork Orange to me.

You don`t say what subject this is for, but if it were - for example - modern foreign languages, then it would be quite a good exercise in comprehension. It shows how, with some words understood the others can be worked out (although I`ve not the first idea myself!)

Yuh, found that. We`re writing a strongly worded letter to the teacher illustrating the pointlessness of the exercise

It`s a piece of comprehension that is designed to be understood even though the words are nonsensical.. The opinion of the pupil is what counts.. and far from being a pointless exercise.. it actively encourages imaginative answers.. the blonke (although it is an old english word) can be anything you (or your niece) wants it to be..
