just had a letter from BT telling me i have being using more than my 40 GB/month allowance. They charge £1 per gig over the allowed 40GB.
Anyone recomend a reliable ISP that has unlimited usage , oh and one where i don`t have to change phone companies would be helpful
cheers in advance sime

Blueyonder. You have to be in a Telewest cabled area but you don`t have to take a phone (or TV) service from them.

Or NTL if you are in the Area. Cable Broadband, on the whole, is reliable.

Although, NTL is capped at the moment at 30gb, they dont spit the dummy if you go over (but dont totally take the p***), but if you take up their 10mb (37 quid) service I think you get 75gig.

I to just got a letter from BT saying that I have been using more than 40gb a month.

In September they said I used 114gb and in October they said I used 131gb.
The charges didn`t start until the 15th October so they are letting me off of 50gb of October but are still going to charge me £80.76 for the excess usage during October!

I rang them today and got a migration key and are going to move to Plus net.

Christ! I use a fraction of what you do, but I would still never used a capped ISP as I would never want to have to deal with a nasty surprise like that! :o

I recommend a prog called NetMeter (freeware) if you want to keep track of your usage.

I have just checked Plus net and their service is metered. 30gb peak, 100gb off peak so I am not going with them.
I do not have cable so does anyone no of any ASDL ISP`s that offer an un-metered service.

Thanks.

V21 are unmetered if you pick the right package, it`s the only reason I stay with them :D

I`m with Demon which runs through my BT line and I`m sure it`s not capped .

Also could anyone reckonmend a very cheap ISP (broadband) for my mum , she only sends a few emails and get on the net about twice a week so capping won`t be problem , I`ve looked at a few but they all seem to bundle their phone lines in .
She`s on dial up but as you all know its so sloooooooooooooooooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwww ! :D
Thanks

I hate BT, I`m capped at 15GB. I`m leaving them ASAP.

I`ll probably go with Toucan where I get 2Mb Broadband uncapped AND free weekend calls (dont need this really) all for £15.99

Where as right now I`m on BT Broadband 2Mb - 15GB limit each month at £26.99
