Living Alone

Batavia (Elite) posted this on Tuesday, 28th June 2005, 15:15

I hate it. My flat mate has been away for a week and have loathed every moment of it. Returns again tonight. :)
Horrible not being able to share experiences with others.
Anyone else had the experience of living on their own?

:)

Knowing how much you like BB, try and see if Kinga wants to come round. ;)

I`ve been abroad on on my own for training courses in the past lasting 2 weeks. Miserable isn`t it.

personally I love it.
I got my first taste at Uni when all my housemates left after exams (I had to stay and work - thats money work, for you kids out there) within a week the place felt like home, whereas before it felt like a sanitation order waiting to happen.
as for living with yer partner.. lord have mercy!!

Together alone is the way I like to be.
I don`t think Klinka (Oz joke, I think) is quite up my street. :¦
Watching BB on your own each evening is not nearly as much fun. No point in "ooohing" and "aarghing" to oneself. :(

Did that for 21 years. It was heaven on earth. We did have our own rooms to "retire" to though.

ew

I always thought I`d be a merry bachelor, living a carefree life in a one-bedroomed flat, inviting all the laydees around for hijinks and larks.

As it happened, I lived with my parents until I met Annie, and I moved into a 2-bedroomed flat with her.

Boring story short, we eventually got a cockatil (Allie) who`s become a hell of a character, and although he squalks like a banshee first thing in the morning and had some rather unsavoury habits (he`s eating his own faeces as I type) we wouldn`t change him for anything.

Anyway, on the day of Lukes birth, we asked Annie`s parents if they could look after the bird until we came home, as we didn`t know how long it would take. As it happened, Luke entered the world at 3.25 that afternoon, and after a few phone calls and naps, I returned home to an empty house. No wife, no child, and no chirruping bird. Never had this house seemed so empty. Even the internet and the DVD collection could replace the presence of another heartbeat.

Living on my own? Maybe once, but not now.

I much prefer to live alone. I can do what I want when I want and not have to worry about anyone else. Selfish maybe, but that`s what I like.

All the best,

It`s not easy being different. It`s not easy being cool....but somehow I manage....

I like living on my own, because I spend most of the time with other people. If I live with someone, it makes me lazy.

Ive never lived alone. Ive always lived with parents/mates/the mrs.

I couldnt wait to move out from my parents house. I loved living with my mates, but it was a fairly self destructive lifestyle (which we all agree on now we have gone our seperate ways) and now im living in sin.

To be honest, ive got the best of both worlds. Once every 4 weeks the mrs does a shift of lates, meaning that she is back at 12, 7 days in a row. Its like heaven. I can watch football, music channels, crappy films and porn all without getting moaned at. She also spends a weekend away now and again, which gives me time to wallow in my own crapulence.

Dont get me wrong, I love her to little tiny pieces and I really miss her when shes gone, but you can have enough of a good thing. I need a bit of personal space and time alone now and again and living in a 2 bedroom flat the only way that can happen is if one of us f***s off!

Oh, and im never truly alone because ive always got my crazy cat hassling me for food/attention/a way out.

What im listening to (if youre interested)
