80`s retro toys - Links to Excel files now posted

Pete-MK (Elite Donator) posted this on Thursday, 30th September 2004, 18:20

Lucy at work has got this e-mail which is one of those excel `identify the picture` things based on toys of the 80`s & 90`s. Obviously I can`t post the pics here, but hopefully I`ll be able to describe the one`s we`re stuck on.

1. Calculator that looks like a Professor, with mortar board, glasses & moustache

2. 6-wheeled programmable car, I reckon it`s Big Trax but it`s saying it`s wrong. I remember the ads, where the car had a trailer and it dropped an apple into a man`s hand

3. Balls that looked like zombie faces. The one pictured is green with it`s eye hanging out.

4. How do you actually spell Evil Kinevil? and is that what the toy was actually called?

5. Some weird red & black thing that looks kinda like a Star Trek Phaser.

Sorry I can`t be more desriptive. If she manages to mail it to me I`ll see if I can post the whole thing

2) Big Track
4) Evil Knievel, my brother had one, you revd it up like an air raid siren :)

Cheers guys! just remembered another one. 2 action figures, one was an ordinary looking boy, the other was a large robot. Mainly white, egg-shaped with a blue `belt` and eyes, and looks like it moves about on 3 large wheels. Thought about Jayce and the wheeled warriors, but looked it up on google and it didn`t look likely

I had one of those calculator jobbies, though I think it was called a "Little Professor" rather than "Mr Professor". Still got it, somewhere.

It was one of those "educational" playthings that were all the rage at one time, like Speak and Spell and so forth. From what I remember, it was more like extra maths homework than an actual toy. :D

I had a speak and spell too. :( But mummy sent it off, `to be fixed` (Wasn`t actually broken!!), but she`s since admitted they got a refund on it, to pay the telephone bill. EVIL parents! ;)

Sorry to be a pedant, but it`s Evel (e, not i) Knievel. It`s a common mistake!

Here`s his official site.

Used to have a Big Trax - always used to get broken though. Did anyone ever have a Goblin? ;)
