Harry potter Book 6 title - if yer interested....

Pete-MK (Elite Donator) posted this on Saturday, 26th June 2004, 12:16

Sounds a bit stupid, but if you do your research, it ties in quite nicely with the `longing for a family` theme that runs through the books..

SPOILER:
Harry Potter & The Pillar of Storgé

Someone hacked JK`s website and got through the locked door. Before it was a page of latin text that meant nothing, but the site`s being updated soon, so everyone`s guessing the door will be unlocked this thursday. Basically there`s a book lying on a table, with the following words written on the page...

SPOILER:
1st July 2004

Erm… it is perhaps time for me to reveal
the title of Book 6! I am nearing completion of the
first draft and have definitely decided upon a
title. I had numerous possibilities in mind, but
as I wrote, I realized that only one did the book
justice.

The more clever Potter fans may recognize that
the title relates directly to both `Order of the
Phoenix` and `Chamber of Secrets.` I will be
highly amused if one of you can guess exactly
what`s going on!

On a side note, the length of the book is
growing so fast, I could swear Filius has put an
Engorgement Charm on it; an editor`s nightmare!
I promised myself not to exceed the length of
`Order of the Phoenix,` but every day that passes
makes that undertaking more difficult.
Incidentally, I have much more work ahead.

Alas, the time has come! Here is the reward for
you lot that so diligently figured out all the puzzles
on the site. If you scroll down to the bottom of
this page, I will reveal to you the title of Book 6!

...

The title of Book 6 is:
Harry Potter and the Pillar of Storgé

It hasn`t been confirmed yet, but the writing style is very similar to hers (comment style, not book style)

Still about a year to go til release tho, i reckon...

Hmm... anyway...

while the official denial or confirmation is yet to come, there`s a few doubts as to the validity of this whole thing that`s been thrown into the mix. Basically, it`s the Americanisation of the text that`s raising a few eyebrows...

`More Clever`, rather than `cleverer` or `cleverest`, as Jo`s used before..

And Realized, rather than Realised...(but as an American did the transcript, this could merely be the cause)

but having seen a video of the `door` opening, if it is a hoax, it`s the most elaborate one I`ve seen on the internet for a while..

I think she`s been taking a few lessons from George Lucas in episode titles.

I don`t think much of the title, compared to the previous ones in the past. I`ve never read any of them, so the connection means nothing, and only to the HP geeks.

I think the title has to grab you, intregue you, because basically SPOILER:
the Pillar of Storgé
, sounds like it comes from one of those dodgy neverending fantasy novels, that tries to be like Lord of the Rings or Conan.

Fair play to JK, and she does deserve all the accolade she gets, but I think she could of done better with the title. I think Harry Potter and the Pillar of Doom, sounds quite cool, I``m sure George Lucas won`t mind. ;)

Actually it`s not a made up word, It`s Greek, apparently..

Quote:
We desperately need some love that can transform, judge and nurture the natural loves that we have. Nowhere is that better stated than in C.S. Lewis' tapes, and more academically in his book, The Four Loves. He taught me that there is another word for love that I was not aware of. It is storge, the Greek word that stands for one of the most important of all our affections and loves. It is the love and loyalty within a family. How wonderful it is! You love your grandmother. I don't care if she's big and fat, or skinny and thin — she's your grandmother. There's something so wonderful about that loyalty and domestic kinship. Lewis talks about even in a family, natural enemies like dogs and cats, catch this spirit and become friends and comrades in ways that wouldn't naturally occur. In addition to storge, there is philia — friendship and congeniality that is shared in interests in clubs, fraternity and sororities. Lovers look at each other, but friends stand together looking at what they are interested in
