Video casette converting or whatever I mean (dunno myself)

OK I have a problem here. I do video trades (and DVD too) I traded 2 DVD`S for 2 video casette`s got them back this morning. 1 of the video casette`s I think has NTSC Picturing as the picture doesn`t look too fantastic and with the look of the video I am SURE I have saw the same colouring on a playstation game before (chipped playstation to play NTSC titles) I`m trying to think if it`s worthwhile trying to convert buying the tools to get it watchable as...........I can`t watch it! well I can but not brilliantly the sound is OK though.

I really haven`t a clue what you mean about the colouring, but one thing`s for certain - if it looks crap in NTSC, converting it to PAL will not make it any more watchable (in fact, it`ll probably look significantly worse due to the side effects of the conversion).

Are these tapes originals or bootlegs?

Mike

copies taken from a original I think. Just really annoying as I don`t want to have go to the official site where you would buy them from and pay whatever it is to get a copy on DVD (slight speciality tapes NOT pornos) really frustrating.

if they are true NTSC tapes then there are a lot of cheap players that will output NTSC with out the need for a NTSC tv. when i tryed to view a similar tape years before i got a NTSC player the picture was almost unwatchable, so as a guess i might think your player is NTSC but your tv is not. but then again i am guessing.

Oh it`s definety watchable that`s for sure just not fantastically so. *goes to the philips website for a manual* If I could do a couple of good screengrabs I would try and show you for myself.

It`s the tapes. I am really angry at this. I`ve been given 2 pointless copies and I swapped over perfectly good DVD`S. I Guess what the question should be is it recoverable?
