Music question help.

Can you help me on these two.

The new Nescafe ad where the people are black and white, look like they are under water until they drink the coffee. Whats the music? It`s not on that site that tells you these things.

On Clubed to death by Clubed to death, whats the clasical piece of music this track is bassed on?

Thanks in advance.

all the best,

the second question is probably right up my alley, Andrew....but I`m not familiar with the Clubbed to Death thing you mean...as for the Nescafe ad, is this likely to be classical as well?

*EDIT* Seems to be a piano solo thing at the end of this `Clubbed` piece which has grabbed the attention of people around the net...which may be what you`re after? Is there anywhere on the net I can listen to this piece?

*EDIT No.2* Just listened to a 30 sec sample I found of it (the Kurayamino mix) and it`s a direct quote from Elgar`s `Enigma Variations` (opening movement) - no idea whether it quotes from it again, but it`s a great piece! The `Nimrod` movement is probably the most famous part, often played at state funerals (by a military band unfortunately).

*EDIT No3* Piano solo at the end is just another `variation` of the main Elgar theme, most likely wirtten by Rob D. You`re unlikely to find this anywhere else other than `Clubbed to Death` I`m afraid.

here endeth the lesson :-0)

Hope it helps anyway mate!

If it`s still available, a good recording (and quite old too, so probably cheap) is the Royal Philharmonic orch conducted by Norman del Mar (quite possibly a Deutsche Grammophone reissue), but there will be hundreds of versions around.

Sony Classical - RPO / Thomas Beecham

Classic FM CD - LPO / Paul Daniel (supposed to be a good one)

EMI - LSO / Adrian Boult

etc etc etc

Cheers Mr T, your ace. I think you should be given the job of head clasical music thingy @ Reviewer. The Nimrod one you say. I know that one.

The Nescafe one is a sultry blusey afair with a tinge of big band. It is a famous one and paul here at the shop thinks it may be called and Quote:
I`m feeling blue

Cheers for the call Thithers.

Ps: the Nescafe one is for The Monitor Cath who is internet less at the moment.
