Page 1 of Judgement Day
General Forum
This Sunday West Ham United battle to stay in the Premiership. They looked to be going down all season but they have fought hard and won back their chance to survive. They dont deserve to go down and this final day is approaching soon. Let us all pray that Bolton Wanderers LOSE and the Hammers WIN.
Bolton have a relegation dogfight every season and there is no point in them being in the Premiership. Their team is made up of greedy foreigners who have come to collect their pension and they have no real prospect.
West Ham on the other hand are a great side and always have been historically, producing the likes of Bobby Moore and Sir Geoff Hurst. They have an excellent youth team who are performing day in day out and have great England prospects for the future. Joe Cole is a skillful playmaker who has great panache and potential. If only he can improve his finishing. Michael Carrick is a regular U21 international and is solid in midfield. His passing skills are great and can whip in some long balls.
Jermaine Defoe has been a genius. Sharp in front of goal and still under 21. It wont be long till he is called up into the England squad. Glenn Johnson also under 21 has only played a handful of games but has been outstanding. If only we played him earlier on in the season.
WE ARE SIMPLY TOO GOOD TO GO DOWN but if Bolton win, it will happen. It will be a sad day in East London.
I KNOW we can beat Birmingham City but we cant control BOLTON losing. That is down to prayer.

So you`re a Bolton supporter then ? ;-))
I`m surprised you havn`t mention old golden boots, he certainly did the business for you last week. I wonder if you would be in the relegation dog fight if he had not been out in the cold for so long ?

Bolton have already done enough to deserve to stay in the top flight in my opinion. They may have a team of greedy foreigners but they have shown more bottle than West Ham this year. If you go down, and I think you will, it`ll be because you haven`t been good enough to stay up.
I expect my mob will join you in a couple of years if we can`t get shot of Hoddle the lunatic soon
I too would like Bolton to stay up. Shame they got dragged back into it. Been on the wrong end of some well dodgy refereeing decisions and have a good honest manager. Don`t like Roeder. Brooking`s done OK and given them a lifeline but still rather have Bolton in Prem League.

NO TEAM IS TOO GOOD TO GO DOWN.. if you go down.. you are simply not good enough.. and if by greedy foreigners you mean JJ Okocha?... Yer mad!!.. He is worth the admission fee to any match.. bags of skill.. and a world class player...
actually.. i think West Ham will win... but who cares!!.. we`re in the champions league!!.. howay the TOON!
Ditto HaGGis as far as the "no team is too good to go down" bit. As far as personal sympathy is concerned I`d like West Ham to stay up too - they`ve got a lot of history behind them. But I`m not in any position to say that one team deserves more to stay up than the other.
P.S. Is Defoe really on Man Utd`s shopping list?
Peter
Best of luck to both teams - both have great sets of supporters ( not the corporate types ) - depends as always as to who plays the best football over 38 games.
One point Dicanio - a bit mean to suggest Bolton are a team of money grabbing foreigners - they have fought well over recent weeks. In fact your great Italian never seems to travel past Watford Gap - shame `cos I would have liked to have seen him live.

My brother and I play Fifa 2003 a lot, he supports West Ham (and is a season ticket holder to boot) so naturally thats the team he plays in the league.
If West Ham go down, I dread to think how we will cope when Fifa 2004 comes out and he has to be another team such as... spit... Man Utd. :)

I agree, no team is "too good to go down".
It doesn`t matter than Bolton scrape survival every season, if they finish 4th from bottom then the rules of the league say they survive!!
West Ham only have themselves to blame if they go down, all that talent (current and future internationals) and they`re 3rd from bottom. Madness.... If they do go, I`m sure there`s going to be a mass exodus.
If West Ham go down (and I think they will), the decent players will be sold off and they will end up a mid table division 1 team. Coventry and Derby both flirted both narrowly avoided regelation to division 2 this year. Sheffied Wednesday went down. Wimbledon are stuck in mid-table. It was only a few years ago all of them were in the top flight Division 1.
The longer a club is in the Premiership, the harder is it for them to adopt to life in the lower league. I can`t see them coming up again for a while if they are relegated.
