I cant believe Armageddon Criterion didnt make that list. Westy mate whats up with that? It is really superb. Im sure most people would agree.

Terminator 2: UE also has superb sound all throughout the movie.
I have to agree with ID4 and Fight Club, they were great. Toy Story 2 also.
Star Wars Episode 1 also has brilliant sound.
Driven and Fast And The Furious also have a brilliantly crisp and loud sound.

To be fair to Westy, that is a collection of surround sound moments submitted over a period of some 10 months, not a top 10 !

PREDATOR & The Die Hard Trilogy R1 box set

My personal top 4 in no particular order

1) Pod Race in Phantom Menace (R4)
2) The race sequences in Driven (esc. the in car scenes) (R2)
3) T2 - most action scenes (R1)
4) Akira - a personal choice, nice use of sound (R1)

• The Matrix - the whole thing but especially the lobby shootout and bullet-dodging on the roof
• Saving Private Ryan (DTS) - the opening and closing battles
• U-751 - the depth charge sequence
• Phantom Menace - Pod race and final light-sabre battle
• Fast and the Furious (DTS) - the opening robbery
• Terminator 2 - the introduction and viaduct chase
• Toy Story 1 and 2 - the "rocket" car in number 1 and crossing the road in number 2
• The Ultimate Die Hard Box Set Region 1 (DTS) - too many to mention
• Superman:The Movie - title sequence and the helicopter rescue
• S & M: Metallica and the San Fran Symphony - every damn song

I would have to say 2 must haves are the Matrix for the lobby scene and Fast and the furious for the main race scene, full blast 5.1 Blinding.... Actually world is not enough 5.1 is quite good as well... and I would also probably recommend Ep 1 good sound..
