Which should I get - R1 or R2 Terminator 2?

Neil Morford (Harmless) posted this on Friday, 2nd November 2001, 02:09

I am in two minds over the T2 release. On one hand, R1 has the braching versions of the film. On the other, R2 has the better quality PAL version and the deleted scenes from the other versions separately on the disc.

I`d be grateful for any advice from people who`ve seen both versions or who know their respective strengths. Does the R2 release have everything from the R1, albeit less neatly done or is anything major missing? Is the PAL version noticeably better than the NTSC? Is it worth getting the R1 version just to get the branching versions and the Ultimate version?

Thanks in advance.

Neil Morford

Region 1.......you get 3 versions of the film. What`s the point of having the deleted scenes (on Region 2) if they are not integrated into the film.

I have region 1..........you won`t be disappointed!!!

Region 1 definetly for the branching. worth it. The deleted scenes are branched into the film almost unoticably. Arguably, the region 2 metalic case is better but in terms of quaality, i would say go for region 1

I haven`t seen the PAL version but if you can notice anything wrong with the NTSC picture I would be very surprised, it is a simply flawless transfer, go for the r1, you will not regret it.

Definately region 1, it`s a quality disk.I don`t like the tin case on the region 2 anyway I think it looks like a biscuit tin.The metal case on the region 1 looks the business. I think we have a winner here.

Thanks for the responses - I have ordered my R1 copy due to your recommendations and the reviews on this site.

Just a followup: andyrh68 - is that URL correct? I can`t get through to it, nor can Google find it. That`s the sort of site that could be very useful. When`s the last time you looked at it?

Thanks again.

Neil.

Or better still, add the Hyper Text Transfer Protocol to the address and you get a nice lazybones one click link :
