yep i know i cant spell.
i`m after a good physcological thriller for a gift for a female cousin.
she`s really into films like this and I want to find one that gets the mind working.
Any recommendations.
I suppose it doesn`t have to be english as there are some excellent eastern subtitled films out there.
Thanks in advance guys

Donnie Darko messes with your head a bit,
Memento,
Butterfly Effect
finally the very weird: Requiem for a dream

Not sure if these fall into the right category but all get youe head going!!

The Machinist is sombre but in a similar vein to Memento.

The Vanishing is a cracking foreign language film. (not to be confused with the American remake that is awfull. Is foreign name is Spooroos.

From Imdb

Plot Summary for
Spoorloos (1988)

Rex and Saskia are on holiday, a young couple in love. They stop at a busy service station and Saskia disappears. Rex dedicates the next three years trying to find her. Then he receives some postcards from her abductor, who promises to reveal what has happened to Saskia. The abductor, Raymond Lemorne, is a chilling character to whom Rex is drawn by his intense desire to learn the truth behind his lovers disappearance. The truth is more sinister than he dared imagine.

All the best,

Dr 42%er.

It`s not easy being different. It`s not easy being cool....but somehow I manage....

Session 9 is very compelling, it`s half-and-half horror and thriller. Dead good.

(I second "The Vanishing" too)

Peeping Tom directed by Michael Powell
very very odd indeed

and if she likes Ballet then The Red Shoes-whole lot of psychology going on in that but no murders-or is there??

Got absolutely slated by the UK critics but I think it came out around the same time as Psycho
