007 cut on DVD?

The Shenk-man (Competent) posted this on Monday, 16th July 2001, 00:11

I`m contemplating purchasing the Bond collection on DVD.

I heard that some of the R2 releases (particulary Licence ToKill, Goldeneye and Tomorrow Never Dies) would be re-classified and thus uncut. Now I hear that this is false and that, once again, R2 is victim of the censors` machete.

Can anyone clarify this for me? Have these titles been cut?

You are right. The last 3 007 disks are cut, as well as Licence To Kill, in the UK releases. There are uncut versions available in Europe (France has an uncut Licence To Kill BUT only has an English 2.0 track - has English subs but it`s not the same is it?)

I`ll produce a list of the cut films later and the places where you can get the untouched versions.

Licence To Kill is uncut on Region 2 as the previous cuts could now be suitable for a 15 certificate.
GoldenEye has three headbutts cut but I have heard that the DVD print is uncut. (Sky TV showed it UNCUT)
Tomorrow Never Dies is cut with the Michelle Yeoh shruiken scene taking cuts and Bond stamping on the guards face.
Also various sound effects have been toned down.
