Die Hard Ultimate Collection - were you as impressed as I was?

I must say I was very impressed with the quality and quantity of the recent Die Hard box-set. All 3 films have never looked better but it was in the sound department that I was blown away. God bless Mr. DTS. Kudos must go to Fox for gathering together all of those lovely extras and presenting them via some of the best animated menus I`ve ever seen.

What are your views? Any problems? Any disappointments?

yes bloody brilliant.DVDs of the year no doubt. Fox have been superb in creating dvds. I reckon they lead the race in manufacturing shortly followed by columbia tristar. Last of the lot (lol) pooey warner bros. Finally an alternate ending worth seeing in die hard with avengence. I have been p***ed of by so many crap alternate endings where 1 second is different to the original ending and they brand that as alternate. Bi plane regular plane wasnt much difference was there? But the dvds rock no doubt

a few months ago i was going to get the die hard trilogy on r2 as i never knew about the ultimate collection. That would have been a very mistake. Some reviewer on this site or something informed me that the five star collection is due to come out. So thanks very much for that info mate. ur the best:) DIE HAAARD ROCKS

Wow, was I ever impressed with this box set. Things started off looking good when it arrived on Monday (I was expecting it Tuesday), and it had got through Customs unmolested. I started running the disks and firstly I was struck by the magnificent animated menus on all the disks. Having the extras on separate disks means corners have obviously not been cut, and the movies themselves are presented in the best condition I`ve ever seen them in. I have to confess I`m an extras junkie, so the goodies on the second disks were a delight. I was particularly interested in DH3, as much is made of the way it has been cut, and in Europe distribution is via Touchstone (which makes an Ultimate Collection R2 unlikely I`d have thought). The extras on that disk are fascinating (again especially as the R2 disk is so totally p**s-poor.) Sam Phillips (who goes berserk with a sickle in the uncut edition of the picture, but simply appears behind the fat guard who has inexplicably bled to death in the R2 edition) has the wickedest smile I`ve ever seen. The bonus alternate ending scores 9.99 on the WTF meter. In all, the most fun I`ve had watching a box set this year.

I am thinking of buying this set, but I want to know if it is true that there are deleted sequences on Die Hard, and deleted scenes on Die Hard 2 before I purchase.
Has anybody watched these and let me know if they exist and if they do then what they contain.
Thanks!

There are deleted scenes on both discs and the alt ending on die hard 3. There is a montage of scenes and out-takes on die hard 1 and around 3 deleted scenes on die hard 2. This is a class box set and in my humble opinion probably THE box set for film fans.
