Pitch Black: Region 1 or 2?

WPKenny (Competent) posted this on Monday, 21st May 2001, 13:04

Does anyone know if there`s any cuts in the R2 version of pitch black (due for release on 28th may) and the R1 version? I had my first experience of PAL-60 from the Superman special edition and it just looked a little jerky (only if I was looking). I`d rather get the R2 (or even R4) if there`s no differences. I am pretty sure that the three minutes extra on the R1 version are cut, but I hear they`re just character building scenes...nothing fascinating.

Region 1 is the un cut directors cut thus making it unrated (18) the region 2 version is rated 15. Im guessing r1 has more gorier scenes or blood or something. I would have loved and alternate ending but dont look like either disc has it. Are the extras for both regions the same? the r2 is selling for £12.99 inc p+p at www.under18.org.uk if ur interesetesddsjdsalifhds
Sorry went a bit mad

Yeah, The R1 was uncut, but I can`t say I saw anything gory enough not to be certified as a 15 in this country.

er... nope.

unrated DOES NOT equal 18

all it means is that this version was never submitted to the MPAA

in answer to your question the uncut version only gains character building stuff, but it is good stuff, UK version has no gore/blood cut out

(the full head chomp is in both!)
