The Goonies replacement Disc arrived yet

simon1977 (Competent) posted this on Tuesday, 19th October 2004, 14:58

I got a copy of The Goonies which didnt contain the commentary track so I sent it to the Warner Home Video address given to me by play to get a fully working disc. I was just wondering if anyone else has done this and if they have got their disc back yet.

The only thing that bothers me is that there is no phone number to call if it doesnt turn up.

I got hacked off with the fact that there are both faulty and correct versions on shelves in this country, so I just ordered the R1 version.

This title just came back in today after a weeks absence. There is a red band across the top saying "full version", that I hadn`t noticed on the first (faulty) batch. The catalouge number has 114 in it as opposed to D4. I had been putting customers off buying this when we briefly had it by informing them of the fault and such is the popularity of this movie all those I spoke to said they would hang on for the re-issue for the missing commentry etc.

That is the same as the one I have and is faulty #(Z1 11474) so I would say it is the same batch!

I thought about sending it back to play. I had the same trouble with Toy Story 2 though in that the Region 2 version didnt work in certain players. But when I took it back to Virgin nobody had a clue what I was talking about. I would have understood had it been some small retailer but surely they could at least contact the major DVDs retailers to explain the situation.

well I shall certainly be counting down the 28 days and if it doesnt tuen up by then guess I will have to contact Play, as they were the ones who suggested posting in the first place.
