i tried something similar its supposed to rid the cds of scratches it didn`t work a way around this is using a computer with a good cd writer and copy the scratched cd mine reads them as if they were new even though my stereo wopuld play them as they were so badly scatched worth a try don`t you think?
NB most hi fis/boomboxes will play CDRs
