Anywhere in the UK renting Region 1 DVDs ?

paulfoel (Mostly Harmless) posted this on Monday, 12th February 2001, 16:28

I know there are quite a few places selling Region 1 DVDs in the Uk, and also lots of places doing rental of Region 2 DVDs in the UK.

But, is there anywhere that does Region 1 rental at all ? (in the UK)

I think it is illegal to sell or rent R1`s in the UK.

so I doubt it.

unless you know a Dodgy Bob, the dodgiest dodger in Town:-)

I agree with Ironduke on this one. Supplying R1 discs would be illegal because they have not been passed by the BBFC. You can import them because this is seen as a "personal import". I suppose you could rent from abroad but the postage costs would make this expensive.

I rent region 1 dvd`s every week from a shop close to where i live for £2.00
per night. The owner regularly travels to the states and brings them back with him.

Its nice having a machine with no macrovision.
