Help - Indiana Jones DVDs

chewie (Elite) posted this on Tuesday, 9th September 2003, 09:51

I`ve pretty much made up my mind that I`m getting the R1 DVDs of the Indy boxset so that I can get Temple Of Doom uncut. But where is the best place to buy it from. I`ve used Movietyme and PlayUSA and know they are reliable, but what about Customs?

Will Movietyme mark the package and say it is under the limit?

Thanks in advance :)

I am waiting to hear if the R4 is going to be uncut, as like you Chewie, I prefer PAL.

According to DVD Compare, the R1 and R4 are uncut, but no other site has any information on whether the R4 is cut or not, so im holding back a little longer before buying.

Yeah, I was going to wait for the R4, but someone said something that changed my mind. I heard that because Paramount use lots of subtitles on their DVDs, that there is a good chance the R4 DVD will be cut because the same master will be used for R4 and R2.

So I gave up on it and will just get the NTSC R1 DVDs. Unless of course I hear different 8)

movietyme repost once your order arrives in UK, so you receive no custom charges. I recently got CSI: Season 2 boxset from them and no customs charges

That sounds good. I think it will be Movietyme. They are not the cheapest but if I can get away without customs then it will be worth it (and much cheaper in the end).

Unless of course anyone else offers a better deal?

cd-wow have R1 for 33.99 and if you pre-order now and use a couple of the money-off vouchers that are floating about you will get it for 31.49

Do CD-Wow repack your stuff in the UK?
Has anyone been stung by customs when ordering from them?

CD-Wow stuff comes from Hong Kong and does not get stung by customs. Other posts here have stated that if a package does get charged, just contact CD-Wow and they will refund the charges.

Personally, I`ve never had this problem. I received Angel Season 2 a few days ago from them and there was no customs interference :-)

Thanks for the info :)

I`m now thinking CD-Wow. I`ll make my mind up within the week, as I`ve just ordered quite a few DVDs already today :D

Ordered mine from CD-WOW. Like R1 because of the packaging with no irritating PG logo stuck right in the middle of it.

£33.99, ran out of discount vouchers, they charge your card there and then but at least it`s out of the way now.
