Ok, to start things off i dont own own any version of T2.

I know on the second disc, the theatrical version of the film has been made so its its playable in Windows Media player 9, but is it only playable this way? Also, does this include the extras on the second disc or can i watch them on my Toshiba?

Thanks

The High definetion version can only be played with WMP 9 and wont work on any standard dvd player which takes the bloody p*** really. A dvd is a medium that should work on any dvd player and this is breaking that assumption. You should be able to watch the extras fine though unless they are DVD ROM

Recommended System Requirements For DVD-ROM "T2:High-Definition"
Windows XP Professional
Windows Media Players 9 Series
512 MB of RAM
3 GHZ Processor
128 MB/3D Video Card
24 Bit 96 KHz, Multichannel Sound Card
Mouse, Speakers/Headphones
Network Connection of a least 56.6 Kbps
Recommended Display (1600X1200)

So basically, only people who have bought a computer in the last 6 months can enjoy this version.

The first disc contains the movie and is supposed to be really good but just not as good as the high definition version.

Couldn`t agree with you more. But this 2-disc set is still a DVD since disc 1 is the film with commentary etc. Disc 2 has DVD-ROM content, as well as standard DVD stuff and features the HD version of the film. Those with the kit to do it can export the WM9 video to a suitably equipped projector/plasma screen.

I`m curious to see the HD version but only with a suitably equipped PC as I don`t want frame skipping.

Beware of buying this new T2 disc just to see the HD version.Apparently, unless you are in the US or Canada the WMP will not allow you to watch it.You need to go through some awkward process involving proxy servers to get to see it.Is it worth it,its not even the complete version.

Still worth getting this if you really want to see the Windows Media HD version.
If you haven`t got any version of T2, this is the one to get rather than the upcoming T1 and T2 boxset.

It comes in a special edition embossed tin. Be careful when trying to open this. The seams are rivetted together with 2 pins. To open it without damaging it, use a strong but thin flat head screwdriver to prise apart at the points of the 2 rivets. You can then `reseal` the tin by positioning the rivets into the holes.

Also, this is the 1st commentary done by James Cameron and it is highly insightful and a great joy to listen to. There`s also loads of information bursts on-screen detailing extra tidbits of info for each scene and also screen annotations (which do not detract from viewing the film) to show how the camera work and artwork was done or to show the techniques used to edit the footage. Don`t forget that this is also the extended version which includes all the deleted scenes seamlessly.

This is the definitive version for sure as it is packed with so many features - you won`t be disappointed.

Well, I have the Ultimate Edition, and I won`t be buying this.

I found this comparison of the screenshots of
UE vs EE vs HD
The HD is vastly superior but the EE is also vastly superior to the UE

Got mine yesterday and the image transfer is an improvement from the UE. Apart from the Cameron/Wisher commentary and a couple of short documentaries the extras are a bit thin on the EE, when compared to those on the UE.

If anyone`s interested, the theatrical version is included on disc 1 as an easter egg.

Shenk.

shenkman, is the text commentary and pop up information interesting?
Also, has the theatrical version easter egg been remastered like the special edition ?
thanks
