Nintendo Wii available in (some) Argos stores - Reservation available

The G Man (Elite) posted this on Wednesday, 18th April 2007, 17:44

The Nintendo Wii console seems to be cropping up in some Argos stores now , bit hit and miss (more miss ;) ) really.
Also available in packages from Game if they haven`t sold out while I`m writing this.

Also , I have a reservation which I no longer need (managed to get mine at a different store) for a console with Wii Sports (£179.99) for Argos 50 Walthamstow High Street (London E17). Expires close of play tomorrow (Thurs 19th) - anyone wants it I will send out to the first PM to arrive in my inbox :)

Woulda taken you up on that reservation if it had been a bit easier to get to from up North lol.

Pity...been checking all my local Argos etc. for an offchance that one gets a Wii in, but no luck so far.
(couple of places online can deliver but only if they sell you a stupidly priced package with games I don`t want!)

Plus there`s always the chip going in it almost straight away.... lolol

What do you mean about the chip going in it? Just interested as a Wii owner.

Simply that....they`ve already got modchips for the Wii out on the market lol.

Means you can get games that aint supposed to play on yer console to play on yer console ;)

And nice one Jackal...had a look but T-R-Us are out of stock again too...but seems to be a few more consoles surfacing here n there so maybe Nintendo are about to get the proverbial finger out...

Ah, modchips. I thought you meant a chip in the Wii was "going" within a week, as in breaking :P

NP, soz for the mix up lol

And ya know what p***es me off about the Retailers (Including the likes of Comet) who have consoles in stock?
You have to buy a jumped up package.
I want to buy a console.
I may at the time wish to purchase a s***load of accessories.
I may also decide to order a few games.
What I don`t want, however, is to be forced into buying some crap bundle of stuff that was never on my "want" list.

Main reason I smile when I tell people I work for Gamestation. Our prices might not always be the lowest (can`t beat the bulk-buying of supermarkets) but we never, ever force people into bundles. Nothing makes me feel more superior than when a customer comes in and tells us they managed to get hold of a Wii, and then that it cost them £420 for the pleasure over the road at GAME (this is what our local GAME was charging at launch, they were even trying to rope pre-order customers into it).
